Media Alliance is proud to have joined with Amazon Watch, 350.org, Food and Water Watch, Global Exchange, Amnesty International, Center for Environmental Health, CT Citizen Action, Friends of the Earth, Global Inititative, Greenaction, International Accountablity Project, Justice in Nigeria Now, Marin Interfaith Taskforce on the Americas, Pachamama, RAN, Rights Action and the Sunflower Alliance, in an important 1st Amendment challenge after Chevron filed racketeering charges against the attorneys and advocacy groups working with Ecuadorians on oil excavation in the Amazon. Bill To Rescue Public Access TV Passed in Sacramento

 

Assembly Joint Resolution 39 was passed by the California legislature. The Resolution will be forwarded to the federal government as a direct policy recommendation from the State of California.

Shame on Feinstein: CA Senator Responds To The Campaign

 

Senator Dianne Feinstein finally responded to the Bay Area-wide Shame on Feinstein campaign. In her letter, the senator makes several questionable statements notably “The NSA does not conduct mass surveillance on US citizens”, that she “supports measures to improve oversight of US intelligence programs” and that she “take seriously my responsibility to ensure that national security programs honor the privacy and Fourth Amendment rights of U.S. citizens”.
